Womenswear Colour and Fabric Trends - Fall/Winter 2021-22 (ItaltexTrends)
June 30, 2020

1-A TOUCH OF BURGUNDY
Black and white is revitalized by dark red decos. Black and dark burgundy combinations in classic tartan checks are updated by shiny tape yarns, jacquard chenille viscose knits or baroque flower patterns.

2-NATURAL SHADES
The natural hues shading from chocolate brown to cashà beige are interpreted in sports looks: loopy and knot yarn bulky coats or lamb fur effect wool felted sponge, natural light-dark contrast leno lace and lightweight fancy knits, or rustic touch English wool for old-style diamond pattern suits.

3-UNDERGROWTH INSPIRATION
The warmest fall shades inspired to underbrush colours enliven sports taste fabrics. Textured moss and lichen-like surfaces for terry cloth knits are even double-face. Classic British style checks paired to precious olive oil tones for cashmere coats. Mat khaki small jacquards recall basket and four-leaf clover weave constructions.

4-SPORTY PASTELS
Pastel tones dominated by baby pink for virgin wool structured double or splittable coats.
Amusing 60’s style checked brushed coat. Brushed gauze fleece on mouliné and shaded stripes. Bon-ton checks with loopy yarn decorations teamed to classic twill.

5-RECYCLED COTTON
Cotton production accounts for 25% of the world’s textile fibers, and it has an extremely high environmental and social impact: the exploitation of natural resources, pollution, and bad working conditions affect especially the poorest areas of our planet. Therefore, it becomes essential to undertake a virtuous cycle consisting of the recovery of pre- and post-consumer materials and leading to the reduction of the industry’s impact on the planet.
The examples presented show that yarns with as much as 80% recycled cotton blended to virgin cotton can be used to produce interesting and modern products.
