Power & Glamour... What else? (Carlin Creative Trend Bureau)
November 14, 2016
Already initiated by some labels in recent fashion weeks-PE17, the "show-off empowerment" trend is now announced as a major story for next winter.

Expanding shoulders, reinterpretation of the 80's codes, the fusion of sporty, the street and glam ... all this contributes to the emergence of a new edgy and assertive attitude.

The silhouettes designed by Demna Gvasalia at Balenciaga are obviously the most representative of this trend and have marked the spirits with their radicalism, but we spotted on the catwalks many other proposals, particularly at Louis Vuitton, Isabel Marant, Kenzo or Véronique Leroy, who are obviously in this direction.

It is striking to see how these elements, although they come from PE 17 shows, seem perfectly transposable on a fall-winter season. In fact, designers who have gone this way have demonstrated a forward-thinking vision, already announcing what will be a reality for next winter.
An now, this is the "we advised you" sequence: Carlin anticipated the emergence of this trend and called it Fast-Lane. Beyond references to winter sports “Courchevel circa 1984”, this theme aims to revisit the entire urban and urban wardrobe, by pressing the “power” and “show-off” buttons.

The shoulders are extended, the waist is highlighted, the leg is sheathed, and sports codes merge with a very "couture" look. Among all trends announced for 17/18 AH, it is probably the most ambitious ... and the most exciting one!
