The Los Angeles fashion icon Mameg, long located next door to the Martin Margiela store in Beverly Hills, has returned to the neighborhood after closing a year and a half ago. The new store will be located directly opposite the famous Gagosian Gallery at 417 N Camden Drive.

Previously housed in designer Sonia Boyajian's jewelry studio-boutique with its splendid Art Deco architecture, the brand founded by Sonia Eram, has now moved to Camden Drive, in a Victorian brick building reminiscent of London's finest districts, all designed by Johnston Marklee.

Mameg has incorporated elements of the past décor, such as this zigzagging table and has added signature furniture. It offers fashion favorites such as Loewe, Marni, Walter Van Beirendonck, Balenciaga and Y-Project

With Eram's passion for art, the new Mameg boutique opens onto a courtyard featuring baobab trees, and an art piece entitled “Laokoon” by artist Per Kirkeby. A monumental, multi-million-dollar piece in patinated bronze, installed by Michael Werner gallery.

As in its previous spaces, the Mameg boutique this time shares its space with Michael Werner Gallery, which has just opened its very first gallery in Los Angeles. The German gallerist first opened in Berlin in the early 60s and now has galleries in New York, London and Athens

At the back of the Mameg boutique, a corridor leads to the Michael Werner gallery, where works by Marcus Lüpertz and Pierre Puvis de Chavannes can be seen until September 9. A specialist in modern masters such as Hans Arp and Francis Picabia, the gallery also represents a number of highly talented European artists, including Enrico David, Per Kirkeby and the German painter Florian Krewer, to whom the next exhibition, opening on September 13, is dedicated.
