Mango’s recently announced focus on UK store openings has seen the Spanish brand opening at Angel Central in London, a deal struck through CBRE and Colliers.

The  retailer has opened a 3,200 sq ft unit on Angel Central’s ground floor, stocking Mango’s womenswear lines. The space is the latest in its retail concept New Med, aiming to reflect the spirit and freshness of the label that’s strongly influenced by Mediterranean culture and lifestyle.

Sustainability and architectural integration are said to be key to this new design, and the latest store features elements such as eco-efficient lighting, heating, and ventilation, as well as incorporating sustainable materials such as natural paint.

Angel Central is a key location that plenty of brands lately have chosen both for its positioning in an affluent and busy area of London and for its suitability for new concepts.

In the heart of Islington, recent arrivals or revamps have included Kiki Milano, Office and Accessorize. Some 18 months ago, H&M also chose it as the location for one of its newer-style stores.

Ciara Daffy, Asset Manager at CBRE Investment Management, said: “Mango brings a seamless omnichannel experience to the community of Islington and delivers a quality offer, enhancing the retail mix alongside an array of complementary brands. As we continue to witness strong performance at the centre, Mango will only add to this momentum and we are delighted to add yet another firm favourite to our tenant portfolio.”
