Antonio Marras is updating its management with a change at the top of the company. The historic Italian fashion brand, founded by the designer of the same name and acquired by Oniverse, formerly part of the Calzedonia Group, in 2022, has announced the appointment of Barbara Calò as CEO.

The executive, who had been CEO of Marni since 2019, took up her position at the Sardinian company at the beginning of September. She previously held senior roles at Giorgio Armani, Jil Sander and Prada.

The appointment of this new CEO is part of a strategic development programme for Antonio Marras. Sandro Veronesi, chairman of Oniverse, said in a statement: "Barbara Calò is a strategic addition to Antonio Marras' Board of Directors and I am convinced that her experience and talent will add value to the brand. Barbara, with her extensive experience in the fashion industry, will help us to continue the expansion of Antonio Marras, particularly on an international scale. Together with her, we will pursue the retail plan which, since the acquisition in 2022, has been one of our main objectives."

Since Antonio Marras joined the Venetian group headed by Sandro Veronesi, the brand has embarked on a path of significant growth with strategic openings in its domestic market in Rome, Venice, Florence, Turin and Forte dei Marmi.

Oniverse continued its activities in 2023. Sandro Veronesi's company, which controls the Intimissimi and Tezenis brands among others, ended the year with a 2% increase in sales (+5.5% at constant exchange rates) to €3.1 billion.
